Amanda Saint Claire

Amanda’s journey to an artist is as unique as her body of work. A self-proclaimed travel addict, Amanda is equally as curious about the world around her as she is about the subtleties of the inner dynamics of human relationships and she is not afraid to tackle difficult subjects with bold authenticity. Amanda’s gift as a natural storyteller gives her an ability to deeply connect with her viewers and has caught the attention of New York City-based curator and promoter Renée Phillips who recently wrote, “Thank you for creating art that always makes me smile. You combine a child-like spontaneity with sophisticated compositions and expert color arrangements.”

Amanda’s work has also been described as “refreshingly brave and unique” by San Francisco based artist, Nicholas Wilton. Amanda strives to create dynamic tension in her work through the use of color, composition, and texture as she pushes into a subject and she brings to life to the interplay between intention and intuition. She cites many artistic influences but is especially fond of the personal stories behind the work of strong women such as Irma Stern, Niki de Saint Phalle, and Hilma af Klint. Amanda ’s work is a reflection of her journey to remain wholehearted and authentic.

“Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up.” Pablo Picasso. Amanda seems to have figured this out.
