Charles Loloma Gold Tufa Cast Double Sided Pendant

Charles Loloma (1921-1991)

This solid gold tufa cast double-sided pendant was made by the father of contemporary jewelry, Charles Loloma. Tufa casting is the process of carving into volcanic rock in your design and then casting in metal in this cast gold. He achieved a high texture by adding a single high-quality Lone Mountian turquoise stone set in a serrated bezel. Flipping the pendant over, you have a multi-inlaid design of red coral, pink coral, sugilite, turquoise, lapis, and fine-line gold accents. The inlay is set to a diffrent height, adding a level of dimension. The bail, Charles, is inlaid with coral, turquoise, lapis, sugilite, and gold accents.
