Aaron J Fredericks Paralyzed Kachina and the Blind Mudhead Kachina

The Tühavi Kachina is paralyzed. As the legend goes when he became paralyzed he was carried by a Mudhead Kachina who happened to be blind. Since Both had disabilities they teamed up and worked to overcome and work together. The blind kachina carried his friend the paralyzed kachina who was able to use his sight to give directions when walking. The Tühavi carry a bow and use this in order to hunt for food.

The detail on this hand carved Kaichna is incredible. Depicted on the staff is a bee hive with honeybees being carried by the paralyzed kachina seated on top of his friend the Mudhead (blind Kachina).
