Dave Newman

Dave is a self-taught artist originally from Anaheim, California.  Dave and his wife Donna moved to Prescott, Arizona in 1997 and recently relocated to Placitas, New Mexico. Dave creates mixed media collage constructions using his original photographs, found objects and vintage magazine articles and advertisements.  In making these ‘time capsules” Dave focuses on historic locations, recycles objects and brings a sense of nostalgia to his work.

When Dave is not working on collages, he paints. His acrylic paintings encompass a variety of subject matter including landscapes, birds and Pop Culture.

“I want people to draw their own conclusions when looking at my work. I want them to look and look again because there is always something else to see.”

Dave has worked with the Fender Custom Shop creating playable art guitars for over fifteen years and has been featured in Fender calendars, catalogs and books.

Some of Dave’s Collectors include, Cleveland Indians Training Camp, Goodyear, Arizona, Phoenix Home and Garden Idea House, Fender Guitar Museum in Germany, Z Tejas Grill, San Antonio, Texas, Warner Brothers Records, Los Angeles, High West Distillery, Park City, Utah, Ajo Al’s Restaurants in Phoenix and Scottsdale, Delta Airlines, Phoenix Airport, and Fort McHenry National Monument, Baltimore, Maryland.
