Michael Kabotie (1942–2009), Lomawywesa — “Walking in Harmony” — was a Hopi painter, jeweler, writer, and cultural leader. The son of famed artist Fred Kabotie, Michael grew up surrounded by art and tradition yet created his own path. His jewelry, like this sterling silver bracelet, combined Hopi symbolism with contemporary design, while his paintings and poetry spoke to cultural resilience and spiritual balance.

Kabotie was also a co-founder of the Artist Hopid group, which was dedicated to renewing Hopi art with modern expression. Through his creativity, lectures, and writings, he became a bridge between worlds—sharing Hopi philosophy with global audiences while inspiring a new generation of Native artists.
